Case 2: IR website of a Hong Kong based engineering company

The company - Phoenix Asia Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ: PHOE) - has an IR website built using a popular IR website provider. However, accessibility issues are present.

The problem

WCAG violation

On the SEC filings page, the keyboard focus indicator is not visible. A user tabbing through the page has no way to tell which filing or download format is selected. This is a violation of WCAG 2.4.7 (Focus Visible), which is a WCAG Level AA requirement that is standard for digital accessibility requirements in the USA. Accessibility failures like this make public companies a target for ADA complaints.

When navigating the website using the keyboard, the indicator disappears when it reaches the SEC filings table.

Our solution

We rebuilt the page with our own SEC filing table, which was built accessibility in mind.  The page meets WCAG 2.4.7 and the broader WCAG 2.1 AA standard. Also, the design of the page was updated to be consistent with the company's corporate website.

Each filing's download link has visible keyboard focus.
